This season of American Idol has really piqued my interest... At first I didn't have a clear favourite until Matt Giraud did a rendition of "So Small' by Carrie Underwood which in my opinion, one of the best performances I've heard by an American Idol contestant. The studio version is equally awesome and I've put it as my blog song so all of you can have a listen and understand what I'm talking about...

Here are the contestants in order of who I like more to who I like less.....and a bit of what I think about them...
BEST TO WORST
1) Matt Giraud
This guy has a fantastic voice and very competent with the piano. Matt has a contemporary style of music which is very appealing to me. There are a lot of layers to his voice which is the reason he is getting rave reviews from the judges..
He's probably the most relevant artiste to today's music industry..I can totally picture hearing him on the radio...
It's a pity though that he's not very popular with the viewers. Just this week he was in the bottom two...I hope in time he gets more fans with his captivating performances..
I'll the first to admit that he WON'T win the competition. But I wish he gets far enough to get a recording contract.

2)Anoop Desai

The last Indian to be on American Idol (Sanjaya Malakar) was a total joke... Anoop has a very likable personality though he is a bit arrogant sometimes.. Anoop has a smooth R&B type voice which is pleasant to listen to...
3.Allison Iraheta
I usually don't like female singers. The main reason is that all of them sound the same.They also sound shrieky and high pitched which hurts my ears. However Allison is different. Somehow her voice isn't irritating. It actually sounds good. Her rock-edged voice sounds so much matured than a regular 16 year old.

4.Danny Gokey
Danny, like Taylor Hicks, sounds brilliant live, but doesn't sound too good in rcording. He couldn't bring the same passion in the reocrding like he does in the live performances. However, he is a joy to see in the live show

5.Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert is one of the favourties to win this season. His signature is his high pitched-metal shriek, that to me, is a bit annoying. He is an alright singer...when not doing that shriek, he sounds quite good.

6.Kris Allen
Kris is a popular contestant this season mainly for his looks. He isn't the best singer, but has a soothing voice..He is just an average singer.

7. Lil Allen

Lil Rounds has good vocals. The only thing I have against ther is that her voice is that there are a lot of singers like her in the mainstream radio.

8. Megan Joy
Megan Joy has an unique voice which is quite nice. However her recent performances are just terrible. Her dancing is really bad too.

9.Scott MacIntyreScott doesn't have a good voice. He has a very very decent voice. He got the sympathy votes just because he's blind.
