What's Been Happening



Let's begin on Saturday.Well,I went to Ang Mo Kio hub with my parents to recieve a money grant of $300 from Metal Industries Workers Union.Anyway we went to some sort of a bar turned into a stage.There was some food there..Mainly sandwiches and cakes.Around 20-odd people attended.There was music on the background.Some notable ones include "Unfaithful" by Rihanna,"You Raise Me Up" by Westlife and "Iris" by Ronan Keating.After around 30 minutes they called us front to receive the cheque.Then something absurd happened.Instead of pronouncing my name as "Zulfadhly",the MC pronounced it as "Firdaus-ly".What the HECK!!!!..It's like totally different!!!I did not notice that my name was called and did not go in front and in the end I had to collect my cheque at reception....It was quite frustrating as we actually went there for me to go on stage but actually did'nt get to do it.
Then after that we met my brother to shop a bit.I bought a brown shoe for $39.95,a T-Shirt and a pair of jeans,then bought a MilkShake(Vanilla..Yumm..Very Nice) from McDonalds and then went home


On Sunday I went to JB with my family..Shopping!!I do not want to go into detail or else it would be very long and dull..Anyway I bought 4 new games..God Of War 2,Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix,The Warriors and Smackdown vs. Raw 2008..All very good games


Anyway that night,I watched Asian Idol and I'm very surprised when Hady Mirza.I nor anyone else expected it..I thought maybe the Indonesian Idol or the Malaysian Idol would win as they are the best singers in the bunch..However I was wrong..Not that I don't suport Hady..I do..I had supported him from the time he was in Singapore Idol,but vocal-wise,I think he is the weakest in the group.Not saying he is not good..I think he is a good singer
This is my explanation for his upset win..
Indonesia,Malaysia and India are the countries with the highest population who can vote(owns a phone)..As these people has to vote twice,they-


1)would vote for the one who appealed to them most..And as Hady has the looks(they said it),they voted for him


2)voted for the idol whose country has the lowest chance of winning(singapore)so that their country has a higher chance of winning over the other favourites

Anyway I heard this country song Westlife covered and could'nt get it out of my head..It's called "Daytime Friends And Night Time Lovers",originally sung by country legend Kenny Rogers..Well I'm amazed that they pulled it off,even singing it with a country slang..There is even a documentary about it..You can watch it by clicking here
