Heroes Season 2(Volume 1:Genesis)
Review
RATING***

I think the first volume of Season 2 was a huge disappointment for me as well as many other Heroes fans all over the world. The first season was an adredaline-pumping,pulsating affair. However, the second one was dull and unorganized. There was lacking direction in this season. In the first season, the characters are united in a goal to save the world. The episodes kept you on the edge of you seat. The end in each episode ends in a cliffhanger, and you feel a strong obligation to watch the next episode. However in this one the suspense has been dumbed down.

Producer Tim Kring made many mistakes in terms of storytelling.A perfect example is in Hiro Nakamura. The start of the his story lies in feudal Japan, where he made acquaintances with his childhood hero,Takezo Kensei. The storyline is boring and seems to stretch on forever. It made little impact and makes the story much less interesting in this segments.

Peter Petrelli's journey to reclaim his memory is a dull affair too,as too was Monica's discovery of her "CopyCat" powers. However,Peter's journey to destroying the Shanti virus was quite good

There are also new characters that we would be better off with.Elle Bishop is okay but Maya and Alejandro are unneccesary introductions to the series. They meeting Sylar in his journey to regain his powers is also uninteresting. It was quite excruciating to watch them actually
.

The Bennets story was okay but West is just irritating for me.
On the positive side,The Shanti Virus story and Matt Parkman's journey in discovering new powers and the company's founders being hunted down is quite good.

The last episode is the best in my opinion but it could be better.Hiro and Adam's hostility towards each other promised a climatic ending, like a huge Samurai match-up,however we got nothing.I've got to admit it though, that the ending for Adam is satisfying.Picture not being able to die,and being trapt in a coffin and buried.Wicked

There is a flaw in the last episode though which I noticed. Why did Peter Petrelli force the vault door open with Telekinesis? When he could have walked right through it?

I wish that Volume 3 would be more exciting.Maybe another Villian other than Sylar. And maybe focus less on the Company.Characters like Hiro,Peter and Matt must be at least interacting with each other rather than one of them in the future or the past. Also,I would love to see a proper match up between the Heroes(like Sylar and Peter.Wonder what might happen?)

Tim Kring must revive my dwindling interest in the series with a much better stroryline in Volume 3 to prevent it from becoming another Matrix

To cap it all off,the series is frustrating and disorganized, but still is an above average show to watch
3/5
